Safety

What we can tell you about the person who comes to the door, what the office knows about every visit, and what this website deliberately does not ask for.

Who comes to the door

The caregiver who arrives is employed by Rideau Home Care. We are not a franchise, and not a referral service that hands you a list of names and leaves you to vet them, so the office is accountable for the visit.

Personal support is delivered by a registered Personal Support Worker. Nursing is delivered by a registered nurse or a registered practical nurse, who holds a current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

We keep the same caregiver on a client wherever the schedule allows, so the person letting someone in is usually letting in someone they already know.

Every visit is on one office schedule

A paid request becomes a visit on a single office schedule, not a message in a group chat. Staffing it means the office assigns a named caregiver to that visit, so there is always a record of who was due at which address and when.

If a caregiver cannot make a visit, the office is the one that finds the replacement and tells you. You are never left to arrange cover yourself.

What we ask for online, and what we do not

The booking form asks for the few facts a caregiver cannot arrive without: how the person gets around, whether medication reminders are needed, allergies, short notes on a condition, and how to get into the home. That last answer is why the form matters to safety, and it is also why we keep it short.

We do not ask for a health card number, a medication list, a diagnosis history or any document. Those are taken by phone, on a call after your request arrives. Our privacy statement sets out what is collected, who sees it, and how long it is kept, under Ontario’s health privacy law.

The caregiver assigned to a visit is sent what they need in order to do it. The date of birth collected on the form stays with the office and is never part of what a caregiver receives.

Paying safely

The deposit is taken on Stripe’s own secure payment page. Your card number is never typed into this website, never reaches us, and is not stored anywhere by us. Nothing charges a card later, because no card is kept.

The care itself is invoiced after the visit, for the hours actually worked.

If something is wrong

Call the office on 343-998-7591. You have the right to raise a concern, ask for a different caregiver, or refuse care, without it affecting the care you receive. That is set out in the Patient Bill of Rights, which we post in full.

In an emergency, call 911 first. Then call the office so we know what happened and can change the schedule.
